This thesis was developed with the purpose of achieving a general objective: to know and analyze the strength of nailed joints in sawn wood of the species PASHACO (Albbizia sp) from the city of Pucallpa, department of Ucayali, and in this way disseminate and encourage the possible uses of this species in the construction industry. As specific objectives, it was proposed to make available to personnel involved in the design and construction with technical information wood on this type of structural joints and to encourage technical research studies of nails in structural joints with wood. To achieve this objective, empirical research was designed and executed on 120 standardized tests designed to know the mechanical behavior of the double nailed joints (resistance in this case) built with the species under investigation, 1 O tests to determine the crush resistance of the nail on the studied mother, 1O tests to obtain the resistance to the extraction of nails, 3 standardized tests to determine the tensile strength in 4-inch nails with 4.56 mm diameter. The whole experimental program was carried out following the guidelines of: Peruvian norms, for the tests destined to know the physical properties of the wood such as the moisture content and the basic density and American, Argentine, Brazilian and European standards for the properties mechanical. AII the tests were carried out in the Laboratory No. 1 of Materials Test of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the UNI except the tests of resistance to the traction on nails of 4 inches with 4.56 mm of diameter that was carried out in the Laboratory No. 12 of the Faculty of Sciences (LABICER). The results obtained through experimental tests on nailed joints subjected to double shear parallel to the fibers were compared with the results proposed by the theoretical models of the normative documents of Peru (JUNAC), European (Eurocode 5), Argentine (CIRSOC) and Brazilian (NBR 7190). The admissible loads obtained by the theoretical models of the normative documents of Peru (JUNAC), European (Eurocode 5), Argentine (CIRSOC 601) and Brazilian (NBR 7190), were compared with the results obtained based on the results experimental and safety factors proposed by the E.010 Standard of RNE for the type of failure observed, obtaining a general 93%.
