The organization under study, uses two methods to supply rolled steel in the manufacture of filters, which are: historical engineering plans and current engineering plans, in both methods unsupervised strips are included and in the quantities not required, causing the shortage and stock for the same material in the strips served, therefore the organization decides to acquire more material to meet the pending demand, both supply practices result in several batches of steel in an oxidized state; the oxidized steel is not viable for the manufacture of filters because the material is deteriorated reducing the properties of resistance and durability in the product, and likewise during the operation there are delays and / or cancellation of orders, because they do not have of sufficient material for the manufacture of the required filters and their subsequent attention. A multiobjective linear programming model was applied to optimize the laminated steel coil cutting program, where two objectives were defined, which are: to minimize the waste generated, with this first objective, the waste of material is intended to be as little as possible to allocate as much as possible more material to manufacture more filters and the second objective is to use the smallest amount of coils for the supply, allowing us to use fewer coils to meet the requirement, therefore less material is used to manufacture more filters, also defined the following restrictions that contribute to satisfy the operational requirements of supply, which are: only supplies of material only those straps that really need to be served and in quantities very close to the required, for a definite consumption period. For this, a template was created to record: the inventory of coils, the inventory of straps, the pending demand and the registry of cut programs, which later with the LINGO software will allow to read the registered data and then the optimal quantity will be identified of coils required by each cutting program to satisfactorily meet the pending demand to supply. The application of the multiobjective linear programming model during the years of 2012 to 2016, allowed to simulate a reduction proposal in the reduction from 46,957 to 15,148 kilograms, having a saving S / 7,634 annually, this reduction in waste allows allocate as many kilograms saved for the manufacture of more filters, also reduced the number of coils used from 264 to 246 without affecting the required demand, having a saving of S / 101,304 per year, likewise the organization can stop acquiring more steel coils to meet the same demand, for both cases, the material evaluated was IZI 520, it should be noted that there are 12 different types of materials in total and only one was evaluated. Therefore the organization has the opportunity to invest less in raw material to produce more filters, in this case the savings of shrinkage and reels used has a total result of S /. 108,938 per year for the material evaluated IZI 520.
