The growth of the population in Peru and its development has generated an increase in solid and liquid waste very difficult to control. The solid waste and leachate generated are a problem, due to their high degree of contamination, since they have very aggressive characteristics and put public health at risk, along with the environmental balance of the localities. For this reason, the following research seeks alternatives for the treatment, control and use of organic solid waste and the production of organic leachate and possible application for a better development of the plants. Organic waste comes from 30 families in the Cover Zone II of Manchay, Pachacámac (purely domestic organic waste). Within the research, the physical properties of the collected waste were characterized and determined: Mass, Volume and density. Once these residues were studied, they entered the composting chambers in a volume of 80 L per chamber. On the other hand, the minimization of organic solid waste was investigated, within the composting chambers, during the 44 days of control of the parameters: humidity, mixing and turning, temperature and pH. To produce compost and organic leachate, obtaining efficient results of reduction of volume and quantified in 75% with respect to the entered volume of organic waste for each aerobic chamber. Within the research leachate samples were taken at 20 and 40 days of the composting process to be analyzed in the laboratory and later to carry out the experimental phase with the barley plants, comparing the results of the development of the plant, obtained with the Fertilizer commercial "FERTILEX" and potable water. The parameters to measure the development of the barley plants are: Elongation of the stem, foliar area and biomass generated. This research is very important since it can be used as an initial theoretical basis, to propose possible solutions to solid waste management problems in Local Governments, in such a way to achieve optimal rates of waste minimization and also to give an application to the generated products, such as compost and leachate, in order to increase the green areas in Districts and localities of Peru.
