The following thesis makes a theoretical and practical analysis of two methods of nonlinear control applied to the specific model of the reaction wheel, also an analysis of the variables that can influence the dynamics of the reaction wheel system in its point of unstable balance. The thesis is based on the documentation made by several authors about the reaction wheel model, the implementation of a classical control method, as well as the simulation of a more modern control model, and the study of its dynamics for different points of operation. The fundamental purpose of the thesis is to perform the simulations with the two different types of non-linear control at the point of unstable equilibrium, comparing their performance and their desired response to various factors such as noise, disturbance and saturation; It is desirable to get a zero steady state error with minimum overshoot. In addition, the implementation of both types of non-linear control will be performed, to compare their performance in practice, with the performance in the simulation, thus also finding the limitations in the mechanical part that can generate changes in the performance of the control method
