This paper aims to solve the problem with the electricity distribution companies to define their policies and strategies to reduce and control energy losses due to the difficulty in knowing what the levels of energy losses in technical and non-technical each part of the distribution systems. To do this, we start from the premise that we know the total energy losses through measurements feeders and low voltage and consumption points (customers). Then using simplified methods without losing accuracy obtained technical losses. Finally, non- technical losses are calculated indirectly, by subtracting the technical losses of total losses. This task is complicated by the large amount of information to handle the uncertainty of the data, the high costs associated with measurements, the high level of imbalance, the complexity of the distribution network and the lack of standardized methods. Therefore, in this thesis, a low-cost methodology for the calculation of technical losses in electrical distribution systems arises. It is based on Power Flow in Distribution, uses data easy to obtain and take into account the results of previous studies and characterization of load losses in conductors and distribution transformers.
