The pre-feasibility study of a plant distribution of natural gas building (City Gate) in Ayacucho city has been made, because currently it doesn’t exist and its lack hinders the natural gas massification. Is necessary its construction because in the plant will be performed the cleaning, pressure regulation and odorization of the natural gas from a branch of the pipeline operated by Transportadora de Gas del Peru S.A. (TGP) to its final distribution to the Transportadora de Gas Comprimido Andino S.A.C (TGNCA), responsible of the compressed natural gas distribution to the high andean cities, also to its pipeline distribution in Ayacucho city. Through studies: market, technical, economic, environmental impact and organizational, the project has been determined that is feasible. The optimum plant size is 20 MMSCFD with a fixed asset investment of US$ 7 601 848, and an investment return time of 20 years. The NPV is zero because the price will be regulated by Osinergmin, and the TIR is 12%. With the project in operation, the high andean cities people will use natural gas paying lees price in comparison with its substitutes, being NGV users the most benefit.
