The present study focuses on the development of a Lean Manufacturing model that optimizes the productive processes of a medium-sized footwear company and that this model can be used as a base or reference for future process optimization projects, both in the Footwear, as in the manufacturing industry in general. For the realization of this project, a diagnosis of the problematic situation of the company was first elaborated and, based on the main problems found, the most appropriate tools were selected to fulfill the objectives of increasing the productivity of the manufacturing process and reducing the production costs of the company; which were: 5S's, One Piece Flow, Andon, SMED, Visual Controls, and in addition, the company's policies were adjusted to the Just In Time philosophy. On the other hand, different types of waste were identified and the critical area was found to be the cut area. Finally, with the implementation of the model, a 24% increase in the productivity of the manufacturing process was achieved, as well as a 19% reduction in direct labor costs and 0.53% in costs associated with the use of raw material; thus demonstrating that the proposed model allows meeting the objectives set.
