Health offer radiology services in public hospitals in Peru with disordered growth, the coexistence of different denominations of health of similar complexity, the lack of coordination of health services, the inadequate system of reference and counter referral, and inadequate policy of public investment in technology leads to inefficient productivity of these establishments on the Department of Health-Lima Metropolitan. The study allows us to identify gaps in the operative capacity of health facilities, such as radiology services of hospitals classified as 3rd level care hospitals of the Department of Health, showing a low rate of specialized radiological care, and thus rationally guide policies for investment in digital radiographic technology radiology units to invest in projects of technological innovation of hospitals of the Department of Health. The methodology determines the relationship and degree of influence of digitization of medical images on the efficiency of the radiology department of hospitals of the Department of Health in Metropolitan Lima, pointing out special attention to the variable digital radiologic technology, recommending technological innovation in these radiological units, which can contribute indirectly to improving health indicators, such as the reduction of disabilities and the rates of morbidity and mortality in vulnerable groups.
