The main objective of this research is to design strategies to reduce environmental pollution generated by solid waste in the city of Metropolitan Lima, in 2021. The sociological approach to the development of the present study has been taken as a reference, considering that socioeconomic variables directly influence the problem of environmental pollution, within which environmental education of citizens can be mentioned, the degree of associativity of citizens , The socio-economic level, the management of stakeholders of the direct actors; And incentives and citizen participation. The investigation begins with the study of state of the art or problematic reality, where, the past, present and future behavior of environmental pollution by solid waste is analyzed; subsequently, the research problem is identified, the objectives and the hypothesis are presented, the justification elaborated and the theoretical framework structured. Subsequently, the prospective analysis is developed, in which the Delphi method is applied, the structural analysis - MICMAC method, the MACTOR method or set of actors and the scenario elaboration method. Finally, the strategic analysis is elaborated, in which the prospective plan is made, strategic actions are classified and selected, and strategies are designed that can contribute to the reduction of environmental problems. Thus, the project aims to have not only an environmental impact but also social and economic impact through the following: Environmental sustainability: reducing the environmental impact of solid urban waste and improving the health conditions of urban areas. Social sustainability: appropriation of citizenship in the definition and management of solutions, empowering citizens as development agents. Economic sustainability: Generation of income at the local level for the most disadvantaged sectors and dedicated to recycling
