In the decade of the 80s a high migratory process occurred specifically in Peru, from the provinces to the city of Lima, being in a greater percentage of the central highlands and other provinces of the country; This migration was due to a social instability caused mainly by terrorism, the poor support by the Peruvian state to the most distant and poor places of the country, this migration to the city of Lima increased the population growth of the capital being one of the first districts “Rímac“, “El Agustino“, “La Victoria“ and downtown, as well as the northem part of Lima being the cause of the increase of vehicles toward the city causing a greater increase of the traffic and of the vehicle fleet and consequently less accessibility by the main streets to the work centers and others, according to statistics at present the city of lima is one of the cities that has the largest number of transport vehicles (taxi, bus, omnibus) in South America in response to this growth the authorities at the time proposed an alternative solution to urban transport for this reason the municipality of lima convened in 1986 the ATTE (Autonomous Authority of the Electric Train) to a public tender for the implementation of this system And the competition was won by the so-called “Tralima Consortium“ of Italian capitals which was won for an amount of 226 million dollars, this work was unfinished after two years of initiation due to the crisis that the country was going through, that is why in 2009, the Ministry of Transport and Communications resumed the project in order to finish the first stretch and extend its route to Miguel Grau Avenue in the downtown of Lima, this section was concluded in 2011 and inaugurated by former President Alan García; The construction of the second section of line 1 was started on April 10, 2012. This was completed on May 12, 2014, Line 1 was completed, thus becoming a raised subway line with an extension of 34.6 Kilometers and 26 stations, finally on July 25, 2014 and after about three months of empty tests, began commercial operations with public in the whole of line 1. The demand reaches approximately 220,000 users with this second section in operation since July 2014. The government is now pushing investment projects more strongly, such as the Lima Metro Lines. In order to face these megaprojects it is necessary to comply with a good management program in all the phases of the project, and an important process within this is the quality control system that must be implemented in order to fulfill the objectives of the project. When analyzing the project and its current quality plan applied to the construction of the Lima Metro Line 1 Section 2 in the execution process, according to the traceability, it is verified that almost all phases of this has been done with the Quality standards required to obtain the final product, but certain deficiencies have been noted that lead to several improvement opportunities that we will pose as recommendations that will help improve performance in the execution of the project, always complying with the requirements established by the internal and final customers . This thesis analyzes in particular the support process, related to the management and control, human resources and their respective procedures, formats that are part of the quality control, finding certain deficiencies in the quality plan used by the entity executing the project, As well as finding deficiencies in the quality control process, making proposals for improvement to the operational excellence of the project, focused on the PMBOK Quality Management guide, which is expected to provide technical support in future projects. The use of the PMBOK methodology will allow the integration and alignment of the quality plans of the companies that make up the Metro de Lima consortium. The chapters of this thesis cover mainly the quality control process applied to the main activities of the mentioned project, as well as the implemented improvements and the results obtained after the measurement. It is concluded that the updating of the Quality Plan to the PMBOK methodology has agility in the projects that is better management of change, agile methods, virtuality. At the same time, maturity increases with the use of quality control metrics.
