The research presents a systematic approach on the evaluation of the negative environmental aspect, and the level of compliance with the applicable regulatory framework, with the purpose of preventing negative environmental impacts significant related to the process of the use of aggregates. The methodology of this research is qualitative, taking as a unit of analysis the Leticia 2 quarry. This methodology serves as a tool for the implementation of the environmental management system and it measures the performance of the environmental management of the organization through preventive res and operational controls: management of Waste, environmental monitoring, response to environmental incidents and progressive closure of the quarry. In this research was found ound an 89% of compliance in the mandatory legal requirements, 43 negative environmental aspects and 1 positive environmental aspect. Considering the criterion of significance to negative environmental aspects: 22 are significant negative environmental aspects and 21 do not are significant negative environmental aspects. In conclusion, these both methodologies allow to reach significant results that are oriented to achieve with the 100% of the applicable legislation and to guarantee the care of the environment in the operative processes related to the industry of the extraction of aggregates.
