In this work nanostructured titanium oxide solar cells modified with magnesium oxide were manufactured and characterized. The TiO2 working electrodes were prepared using the commercial powder P25 deposited using the Dr. Blading technique onto a conductive substrate. The magnesium oxide modification was performed using colloids of magnesium hydroxide. The sealing of the cells was performed using a platinized counterelectrode, a liquid electrolyte and a commercial polymer to keep both electrodes together. The modified solar cells reached a efficiency as high as 3,75%, for a working electrode of one layer. This efficiency value represents an increment of more than 70,45% compare to no modified cell, which had an efficiency of 2,20%.
