In southern of Peru the great economic metal deposits are mostly related to magmatic-hydrothermal processes where occurrences minerals and important areas of alteration are surrounding to paleocentros emission, therefore is necessary to identify correctly the alteration assemblages present, because they are the first indication of a possible deposit that a geologist culd find in a field. The geological and structural mapping allowed recognize the volcanic paleocenters Concayllo and Incapacha, wich are controlled by regional faults with NW – SE orientation; also they have a compressive regime and sinistral component. The microtectonic analysis of the fault planes shows two compresional events during the Neogene – Quaternary: • A fisrt compressive event between 9.5 and 3.9 Ma, related to the emplacement of volcanics centers. • A second and later compressive event related to the hydrotermal activity subsequent of the formation of epitermal deposits. Samples of altered rocks collected in the Mina Cantoral prospect and Incapacha Project were studied using the spectrometer TerraSpec and that allowed to recognize the mineralogical alteration in the study area, wich belongs to a high sulphidation epitermal deposits. The spectral signatures obtained using the Terraspec of the collected samples were used in the ENVI software in order to make a map of alterations in images Aster of the study área, and were compared with a previous map wich was prepared using the signatures defaults to the ENVI, obtaining in the first case a better zoning of haloes of argilic and advanced argillic alteration, allowing make a schematic models of alteration of the deposits studied. The combination of these two tools (Terraspec and ENVI) allows us to better determine mineral assemblages which hydrothermal alteration which associated with lithological and structural controls may be indicative of new exploration targets.
