In a bench-scale batch electrodialysis module with recirculation was studied experimentally the separation of nickel ions (Ni2+) from a synthetic aqueous solution which simulated a galvanic pretreated effluent. One cationic exchange membrane and two anionic exchange membranes of the FuMA-Tech brand were used in this module. To find the working conditions for the separation of nickel ions (Ni2+), from the current and voltage measurements is obtained polarization curves for determining the limiting currents for an ionic exchange membrane effective area of 1O cm x 15 cm. For controllable factors: a voltage of 15 V, a flow rate of aqueous solution into the diluted compartment of 600 ml/min, and an initial concentration of aqueous solution of NiS04 of 200 mg/L, after 180 minutes of operation, a 78.59% of nickel ions (Ni2+) were separated.
