This thesis is about the development in a scale laboratory of process of biological treatment of hydrocarbon dregs through Aeration System, in which checked the decrease of the concentrations of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) a lower values of 5 000 mg.Kg-1. The value of 5 000 mg.Kg-1, is the Maximum Permissible Limit (LMP) of TPH in soil (0 - 0.30 m.) contaminated by hydrocarbons, proposed for the Directorate General of Mining Environmental Affairs (DGAAM) of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM). Treatment consisted of the mixture of the hydrocarbon dregs with agricultural land and sand beach not salinized in a proportion of 1:5:1.25 which was subjected to an Aeration System of 30 and 60 rpm, for a period of 30 min/day, for 75 days. During treatment, the mixture was exposed to a humidity range (20 to 30 %), pH (7.1 to 7.3) and temperature (17 to 27.0 °C). Hydrocarbon dregs came from Talara refinery PETROPERU SA, where the first concentration of TPH was equal to 23 933 mg.Kg-1, a value that exceeds the LMP of TPH in contaminated soil by hydrocarbons. The first TPH of mixture was equal to 13 765 mg.Kg-1, LMP value that exceeds the TPH in contaminated soils by hydrocarbon. During processing, were did four (4) monitoring during which it became clear that the monitoring carried out on days 42 and 62 of treatment Aeration Systems 60 and 30 rpm, respectively; TPH was less than 5 000 mg.Kg-1, namely is less than the LMP of TPH in contaminated soil by hydrocarbons. And, on day 75 of treatment, TPH reached 628.7 and 884.8 mg.Kg-1 in the Aeration Systems 60 and 30 rpm, respectively; representing degradation percentage TPH equal to 95.43 % and 93.57 % respectively.
