The theme developed in this research refers to the estimation of the parameters of cohesion and friction from direct shear tests in-situ in the rock mass of poor quality. In the evaluation we have considered a highly fractured rock mass, with a distance so close between the discontinuities, the planes of weakness divide the set of elements interconnected by such discontinuities which do not favor predominantly slip to be the most reasonable assume that they were really a floor, so you use quality indices that can be secured to the rock mass and to assess the strength of the assembly based on the criteria of Mohr-Columb. In general we can say that the set has been analyzed as if it were a homogeneous medium. Obtaining estimates of the cohesion and friction parameters was performed by direct shear tests on-site that consisted of measuring the shear strength of a poor quality rock mass on the surface, using carved 9 blocks of rock specimens (E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, E8, E9) by carving the block of Shale-type rock making a total of 3 slate direct shear tests on site. The result is displayed in a graph tangential - Normal stress, in which each test sample represents a point, joining the 3 points obtained draw the line that defines the cohesion and angle of friction of tested solid. The results are described below: Research conducted in-situ will allow us to fill a gap in the design of buildings in poor quality rock masses, to date no data of related parameters in major stresses that this is the beginning of research of this type that conditions other professionals to increase and / or modify it done. The investigation in-situ realized will allow us to fill an emptiness, in the design of constructions in rocky clumps of low resistance, to the date there is not had information of the above-mentioned parameters, it is important to stress that this one is the beginning of investigations of this type that it determines to that other professionals increase and / or modify the realized.
