This thesis was performed in order to remove the manganese concentrations between 0.093 mg/L and 0.688 mg/L present in the waters of Laguna Azulcocha by oxidation-filtration process, in order to use it as a source of drinking water. According to the protocol for water quality monitoring, water samples were taken from the Laguna Azulcocha located in the district of San Jose de Quero, province of Concepcion, Junin. We performed the physico-chemical characterization of the water source was determined that the average concentration of manganese exceeds the limits set in the DS N ° 031-2010-S.A. In this regard to define the amount of reagents to be dispensed during the removal of manganese for improving the quality of drinking water in the lagoon Azulcocha characterization was performed and four water jar tests on a laboratory scale for adjusting the reagents in use, where it has been determined that the removal of manganese oxidation technology had a filtration efficiency of 83%, using a reagent dosage of 6 mg/L of lime, 2.5 mg/L of calcium hypochlorite and 6 mg/L Aluminum Sulfate.
