When discharge measurements are conducted, it is necessary to diminish uncertainty as much as possible either in laboratory experiment or in the field. Several researches have conducted experimental research to estimate values for discharge coefficients. A wide range of conditions was found in the literature review. However discrepancies were found in the different formulae proposed by different researches. This research work evaluated the discharge coefficient used in common formulas of rectangular sharp crested weir without contraction in different pressure and temperature conditions of operation. Additionally, the influence of vegetation in the vicinity of the weirs and wear the crest of the weirs was investigated. The experimental part was conducted at the National Hydraulic Laboratory of the National University of Engineer (UNI), located at 110 meters above sea level) and at the Hydraulics Laboratory of the University Andina Nestor Caceres Velasquez,(UANCV), located at 3,830 meters above sea level, both laboratories have tilting flumes where test were trials conducted in a flow rate of 4.95 l/s to 38.9 l/s. Results derived from this experimental work, show that de pressure and temperature somehow have an influence in the discharge coefficient, although this influence is not significant, being larger for smaller flow.
