Management Company Chungar S.A. C. (EACH) develops its operations in the Animon Mine and exploits a mineral deposit such as a vein, located beneath and crossing the Naticocha Centro Lagoon and other lagoons which are around. Due to the nearness of these water deposits, a high quality industrial dumping is required in order to safe guard these water resources in accordance with the General Law of Waters D.L. 17752. For this reason, it has been required of us to prepare a project which has a joint treatment of the alkaline effluents of the Benefit Plant (Tailings) and the Turbid Effluents residuals which comes the inner mine. The joint treatment of the industrial residual waters will allow us to get a better quality of effluent than the one available now and, therefore, this effluent could be poured into a receiver body, helping to decrease the presence of lead, zinc, and other heavy metals in these effluents as well as in the receiver bodies (Trasvase Channel and Naticocha Norte Lagoon), until the levels provided by the General Law of Waters D.L. 17752, Class VI are achieved. The system of “Integral Treatment of Industrial Residual Waters” contains the installation of a Deep Cone Sedimentator (DCT) for the treatment of the water from the mine (140 l/s Esperanza Area and 35 l/s Montenegro Area) and pulp of tailing from the Concentrating Plant (70 l/s), on top of the Animon Benefit Plant. See Location Map PTI - 04. In the design of the Plant of Integral Treatment of Industrial Residual Waters, a possible extension of the concentrating Plant of 40% equal to 3500 TMD has been considered. It is possible and necessary that this project would be complemented with another project which encompasses paste filling; this will give the added value to this system of integral treatment of industrial residual waters. The equipment selected is a Sedimentate^ of 17 m of diameter and 21 m of height with a flocculent dosage plant and recirculation /discharge pump. The Flow Sheet (Map PTI-05) of the Exhibit Section shows the directions followed by the different flows involved in this integral treatment of industrial residual waters
