The objective of this research work is to evaluate the method of applícation of surface coatings resistant to abrasive wear of the alloy electrodes deposited prolective coatings composed of metal carbides of chromium and tungsten, manufactured by the company SOLDEXA - OERLIKON Perú. Also the design and construction of an abrasión test equipment according to ASTM G 65 at the Welding Instituis National University of Callao. The research was conducted in the Company SOLOEXA-OERLIKON. Welding Instituto of the Facully of Mechanical Engineering, Energy. National University of Callao and the Electron Microscopy Canter of the Universidad Nacional San Agustin de Arequipa, over a period of five years. With the abrasion test, demonstrated that the most important variable in the abrasion test effort is low carbon content, the primary carbides of chromium hexagonal array, having a higher abrasion resistance and high hardness, is Exadur electrodo case 43 and Toolcord. To set the type of carbide metallographic analysis was made with the metallographic microscope and scanning electrón microscopy (SEM) in the determination of carbon diffusion and dilution of chromium and tungsten. The hardness measurement was made with a durometer scale ROCKWELL “C“. With the research work carried oul has shown that the electrodes of chromium and tungsten carbide, manufactured by the company SOLDEXA - OERLIKON Peru, are within intemational standards for filing a microstructure of chromium and tungsten carbide matrix polygonal (hexagonal) triose have high resistance to abrasion and high hardness present. With the results of this research work is contríbuted significantly lo the electrode manufacturing industry and mining and metallurgical company and Construction in the application of coating of chromium and tungsten carbide.
