In cellular systems, the number of channels is a limited parameter; therefore, users increase , i be satisfied decreasing the transmit power and shrinking the cell coverage area. However, ooth, the number of handoffs and the offered traffic load grow. Hierarquical cell clustering nicrocells overlaid with umbrella macrocells) shows good balance between the efficient use of idle channels while it simultaneously minimizes the handoff processing load. i his investigation embrace not only the study and analysis of parameters involved in the engineering of heterogeneous microcells/macrocells cellular systems, but also the respective channel assignment based on users mobility (high mobility users should be assigned to macrocells, while low mobility users should be assigned to microcells). Then, this cell selection procedure is applied to a hierarquical CDMA cellular system. Thus, considering the previous study and the design characteristics of a CDMA Network, a model is implemented, next it is simulated with MATLAB, and finally it is compared to equivalent designs of different systems.
