Abstract: La biblioteca moderna dejó de ser un edificio cuyo único cometido es almacenar colecciones al servicio de un selecto grupo de personas. Hoy en día se considera un espacio de aprendizaje para la comunidad; por lo que sus ambientes son más variados y complejos que lo que solía ser antaño. La Biblioteca Municipal de Comas se rige bajo esta nueva concepción para satisfacer las necesidades de la comunidad en la que se sitúa, la cual está principalmente conformada por jóvenes estudiantes que requieren complementar su formación con actividades extracurriculares, como generar un hábito y gusto por la lectura. Para ello esta tesis se valdrá de la teoría de los límites difusos que busca adaptarse a las nuevas necesidades de la población actual que está en constante cambio.
Respecto a la funcionalidad del edificio, el programa arquitectónico se organiza espacialmente con una transición de lo público a lo privado y respetando siempre las circulaciones diferenciadas tanto del público como del personal de servicio.
De esta forma, la Biblioteca Municipal en Comas se resume como un proyecto detonador de conocimiento, cultura y divulgación para el distrito.
Modern libraries are not longer a building for collections which serves only a selected group of people, currently libraries are considered as a learning place for the community, therefore their program is more complex and varied than it was. Comas Public Library is designed by this new concept in order to satisfy the necessity of the community, which is mainly formed by young students that requires to fill his education with other activities such as generate a lecture habit at the library. To achieve this aim, this thesis is using the theory of blurred architecture, which looks for adapt the building to the currently population that is in constantly change. Furthermore, about functional topic, the program will be organized following the criteria of transition from public to private and always respecting the separated circulations of the public and the service. The program is organized by a transition from the public to the private spaces, and keeping the differentiation between public and employees flows. To sum up, the Comas Public Library is resumed as a project that detonates culture, knowledge divulgation for the district of Comas.
