Objective: Determine the relationship between disability due to low back pain and the level of ergonomic knowledge in the nursing staff of the Santiago Apóstol medical care center, Moyobamba 2023. Methodology: This study has a quantitative approach, of a basic type, with a non-experimental, correlational design and a hypothetical-deductive method. The sample was 70 health professionals who perform nursing work. The instruments that were applied are the Oswestry scale and the Test for level of knowledge of ergonomic risks. Results: Disability due to low back pain was 72.90% with minimal functional limitation and 27.10% with moderate functional limitation. Regarding the level of ergonomic knowledge, 75.70% have low and inadequate ergonomic knowledge. Therefore, a significant relationship could be determined between disability due to low back pain and the level of ergonomic knowledge in nursing staff through Spearman's Rho coefficient equal to – 0.316 and whose p = 0.05. Conclusions: The results show that nursing staff are exposed to ergonomic risks and musculoskeletal injuries at work, such as disability due to low back pain, because they have markedly inadequate knowledge about ergonomics and care at work.
