The objective of the study was to determine the antimicrobial effectiveness of the most widely sold alcohol gel in apothecaries in Chiclayo - 2021. Eight brands of alcohol gel were used as a sample, and 20 pharmacy technicians were selected to determine the antibacterial effectiveness. The results showed that total mesophiles were found before gel application 7x107 CFU and after gel application 9x106 CFU, for total coliforms before application 2x107 CFU and then 4x106 CFU and for Staphylococcus aureus it was observed before application 2x107 CFU and then 9x106 CFU, the percentage of CFU reduction was higher than 95% in all cases. It is concluded that the alcohol gels tested did not effectively reduce the number of CFU on the hands of people
