OBJECTIVE: To determine the relation between the associated factors and the indication of episiotomies, in primiparous patients, attended at the Domingo Olavegoya - Jauja Hospital, from October 2016 to March 2017. METHOD AND MATERIALS: The present research work is focused on quantitative, transectional and descriptive, retrospective of cross section. An instrument was developed, in which information was collected in relation to the factors associated with the indication of episiotomy in primiparous patients, factors such as: maternal height, primiparity, fetal weight and fetal distress; The present study consisted of a population of 212 patients and a sample of 55 primiparous women who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. RESULTS: There is no relationship between maternal factors and the indication of episiotomy in primiparous patients. There is a moderate relationship between obstetric factors and the indication of episiotomy in primiparous patients.
