The objective of the research was to determine the antibacterial effect of the ethanolic extract of Tropaeolum majus (mastuerzo) against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains; the methodology corresponded to the experimental type with the Duraffourd scale. The results indicate that in a CC at 100% ethanolic extract of Tropaeolum majus was highly sensitive for Staphylococcus aureus; at a CC at 75% ethanolic extract of Tropaeolum majus was highly sensitive for Escherichia coli; at 50% CC of ethanolic extract of Tropaeolum majus was highly sensitive for Escherichia coli; at 25% CC of ethanolic extract of Tropaeolum majus was highly sensitive for Staphylococcus aureus, we conclude the antibacterial effect of the ethanolic extract of Tropaeolum majus against strains.
