The aim of the study was to determine the factors associated with iron deficiency anemia in children under 5 years of age attended at the San Jerónimo 2021 health center. The methodology was descriptive-correlational, non-experimental, cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 30 children under 5 years of age with anemia. Results: regarding maternal factors, 70% of mothers of children with anemia were between 38 and 40 years old, 80.3% had 1 to 2 deliveries, 76% registered hemoglobin over 11g/dl. Of the neonatal factor, 66.7% of the children with anemia had normal weight for age, 73.3% of the umbilical cord was cut at 3 minutes and 80% were exclusively breastfed until 6 months of age. Of the nutritional factors, 63.3% did not consume multimicronutrients and 70% consumed foods with iron only sometimes. Conclusions Maternal, neonatal and nutritional variables have a significant association with iron deficiency anemia in children under 5 years of age
