The objective of this research is to determine the factors associated with self-medication with antiparasitic drugs in children attending the Hospital Regional Docente Materno Infantil El Carmen. The methodology used was applied, descriptive, prospective, non-experimental, cross-sectional; the sample consisted of 79 parents of the children. In the results it was determined that 36.7% self-medicate their children to alleviate any symptom, 93.7% administered medicines without prescription, 41.8% self-medicated for lack of money to take them to a doctor's office, 59.5% self-medicated with antiparasitics from 2 to 5 months and 34.2% administered antiparasitics because they had no appetite. The most commonly used drug was Mebendazole 49.4%. In conclusion, there is a high prevalence of intestinal parasitosis in children.
