The present study entitled: Knowledge and practice of mothers on the contents of the lunch box and the nutritional status of the preschool educational institution No. 314 "Los Pinos" Sapallanga. It aimed to: Establish the relationship between knowledge and practices that mothers have on the contents of the lunch box and the nutritional status of the preschool. The method was cross-sectional descriptive correlation. The population consisted of 50 mothers and their children, census-type sampling was used. The technique used for the data collection was the interview The instrument was the named questionnaire and a Nutritional Assessment card. The results show 26% (13) of mothers show high knowledge about the preparation of the lunchbox and 74% (37) show knowledge between medium and low, this is related to the practice in the preparation of the lunchbox finding 76% (38) with practices Likewise, the results show that there is no relationship between the level of knowledge and practice in the preparation of the lunch box and the nutritional status because the results show that 60% (30) children show a normal or eutrophic nutritional status. The conclusion was that the majority of mothers have regular knowledge to deficient and the nutritional status of children in most cases is normal and when establishing a relationship using the chi-square test the hypothesis is rejected, that is, there is no relationship between knowledge and nutritional status.
