This study was to prove through a formal, technical-scientific study, the property of the Andean plant "Anguarate", Mentzelia scabra subp. chilensis (Gay) Weingend, indicated by the populations of the area of Ancash - Peru, is good for affections to the kidneys, being the methodology, applied, research design is Transversal, Experimental and the sample were the stems of Mentzelia scabra subp. chilensis (Gay) Weingend "Anguarate". The results are that the extract at 95°C of Mentzelia scabra subp. chilensis (Gay) Weingend "Anguarate" at concentrations of 100% and 80% show greater antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis; concluding that the stem of Mentzelia scabra subp. chilensis (Gay) Weingend "Anguarate" does have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis
