This study had as objective: To determine the in vitro antifungal effect of the hydroalcoholic extract of Anacardium occidentale L. nut. (cashew) against strains of Malassezia spp. the species of the genus Malassezia. The extract was obtained by means of the hydroalcoholic method, the experimental study was carried out in vitro on Malassezia spp. strains, which were sowed with Modified Miuller Hilton agar, on which discs were placed impregnated with the substances of study at 50% and 75% and 100%, in addition to Ketoconazol as positive control and Physiological Serum as negative control. The inhibition haloes formed with the substances of study were measured, and it was possible to observe a greater diameter of the inhibition halo for ketoconazole followed by cashew nut extract (Anacardium occidentale), Method: Type of experimental investigation, the sample was Anacardium occidentale (cashew nut). Results: It was obtained that the growth of malassezia, is inhibited by the hydroalcoholic extract of Anacardium occidentale L nut. (cashew). From a concentration of 100% it presented an inhibition halo of 11.67 mm on average, while in the concentration of 75% it presented an inhibition halo of 10.11 mm, finally at 50% it presented an inhibition halo of 9mm on average. Conclusions: When evaluating the hydroalcoholic extract of Anacardium occidentale cashew, it is confirmed that it has an antifungal effect in vitro at the concentrations of 50%, 75% and 100% on malassezia spp
