The objective of the research study was to determine the most frequent interactions between pharmacological treatment and treatment with medicinal plants in Pharmacy and Biochemistry students of Franklin Roosevelt University. The study method was descriptive-retrospective, inductive-deductive, and the sample consisted of 79 Pharmacy and Biochemistry students. The results indicate that 41.8% presented more frequent interactions with garlic, 25.3% with ginger. Regarding the knowledge on pharmacological interaction, 64.6% of the students correctly defined the definition of pharmacological interaction. In conclusion, there are no general guidelines that allow us to predict whether it is better to take drugs together or separately from herbal treatments and, therefore, it is necessary to consider a case-by-case evaluation.
