The objective of the study was to determine the antibacterial activity of the ethanolic extract of Melissa officinalis L. (lemon balm) and Piper aduncum (matico) against Fusobacterium nucleatum. Concentrations of 100% and 50% were prepared and the antibacterial activity was determined using the Kirby Bauer technique. According to the results, inhibition halos were found for the ethanolic extract of lemon balm at 100% of 15.99 mm and 11.42 mm for 50%, likewise the ethanolic extract of matico obtained inhibition halos of 12.97 mm and 10.06 mm for the concentration at 100% and 50% respectively. It was concluded that the ethanolic extracts of Melissa officinalis L. (lemon balm) and Piper aduncum (matico) presented antibacterial activity against Fusobacterium nucleatum
