The objective of this work was to determine the in vitro antibacterial effect of extracts of Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) and Mentha spicata (herbaceous herb) on Staphylococcus aureus. The well diffusion technique was used to determine the antibacterial effect. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of Rosemary against Staphylococcus aureus at 50% obtained an inhibition halo of 24.89 mm, at 100% it was 26.88 mm, with respect to the ethanolic extract of hierba buena at 50% it obtained an inhibition halo of 8.57 mm and at 100% it was 13.00 mm; on the other hand, the negative control (ethanol) obtained an inhibition halo of 6.16 mm and the positive control 32.02 mm. It was concluded that the ethanolic extracts at 50% and 100% of Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) and Mentha spicata (herb buena) present antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus aureus
