The following research is of basic methodology and non-experimental - transversal design. It used 100 clinical histories of the users attended with Dx of pre-eclampsia. For this purpose it was necessary to use a data collection card instrument previously validated by expert judgment. The results showed that the most prevalent social factors in terms of economic level were 52.0%, urban-marginal zone of origin 42.0%, the number of children was 1 to 2 children 66.0%, type of family was nuclear 50.0%, the most prevalent demographic factors in terms of age were 21 to 40 years 79.0%, level of education of the patients was high school 61.0%, marital status of cohabitants 69.0%, and occupation was predominantly housewife 78.0%. Based on this study, it was concluded that there is a significant relationship between sociodemographic factors and preeclampsia
