Resumen: Objetivo: Determinar la frecuencia de estudiantes de enfermería que se automedican en una universidad de Lima Norte, 2023.
Materiales y métodos: El estudio realizado se enmarcó en el enfoque cuantitativo. El diseño metodológico fue no experimental, descriptivo y por su modo de recolectar datos, de corte transversal. La técnica fue la encuesta y el instrumento ha sido el cuestionario elaborado por Vera-Romero en el año 2013, validado y con una muy fuerte confiabilidad (ɑ=0,90).
Resultados: En una muestra de 133 participantes que cumplieron los criterios del estudio, 63.6% fueron menores de 30 años, 83.9 % son del sexo femenino, 77.1 % son de la procedencia de lima, 72.0% son de estado civil soltero, 64.4% estudian y trabajan. 86.40 % familiares y amigos se automedican, 83.90 % creen que la publicidad de los medios influye en la automedicación. 97.5 % los que predominan son del seguro (SIS). 80.0 % considera tener conocimientos sobre la dosis y duración de los medicamentos. 80.50 % a veces acude al médico cuando siente alguna molestia.
Conclusiones: Se determinó que la frecuencia de automedicación en estudiantes de enfermería fue del 89%.
Objective: Determine the frequency of nursing students who self-medicate at a university in Lima Norte, 2023. And as specific objectives, the associations of self-medication with related factors were evaluated. Materials and methods: The study adopted a quantitative approach with a non-experimental, and a cross-sectional data collection method. The technique was the survey, and the applied instrument was the questionnaire developed by Vera-Romero in 2013, validated with a very high reliability (ɑ=0.90). Results: In a sample of 133 participants who met the study criteria, 63.6% were under 30 years of age, 83.9% were female, 77.1% were from Lima, 72.0% were single, and 64.4% studied and worked. 86.40% family and friends self-medicate, 83.90% believe that media advertising influences self-medication. 97.5% of those that predominate are from insurance (SIS). 80.0% consider they have knowledge about the dosage and duration of medications. 80.50% sometimes go to the doctor when they feel any discomfort. Conclusions: It was determined that the frequency of self-medication in nursing students was 89%, 11% of students do not self-medicate.
