This research had the objective of determining the influence of face-to-face and virtual classes on academic performance. Methodologically, this has been a quantitative, nonexperimental design, causal and cross-sectional research, with a census sample of 45 university students. The instrument was an ordinal scale questionnaire. It was obtained that in face-to-face classes and virtual classes the average level predominates with 60.0% and 51.1%, respectively, in academic performance the very good level prevailed with 66.7%. The inferential analysis reveals that face-to-face and virtual classes influence 34.1% of academic performance, face-to-face classes influence 22.6% of academic performance and virtual classes influence 19.1% of academic performance. It is concluded that the independent variables influence the dependent variable, although not significantly. Therefore, the alternate hypothesis is accepted and, consequently, the null hypothesis is refuted.
