Objective: To evaluate the quality of nursing care among hospitalized patients in the internal medicine department of the Sergio E. Bernales National Hospital,2023. Materials and Methods: Quantitative approach. Descriptive comparative design. A total of 123 patients (sample) participated in this study. The technique was the survey, and the data collection instrument was the Nursing Care Quality Questionnaire (CUCACE). Results: The participants exhibited the following levels of nursing care quality: regular in 56.9%, good in 36.6%, very good in 4.9%, and poor in 1.6%. In addition, 50.4% of surveyed patients were satisfied with the care received, while 49.6% were not. It was observed that 53.7% of the participants were satisfied with their nursing care experience . The highest level of satisfaction was found in the item regarding how nurses informed the family. Meanwhile, the item that showed the most dissatisfaction was the one indicating whether there was always a nurse nearby when needed. Significant associations were found in relation to the comparison of sociodemographic variables such as age, educational level and family income (p value < 0.05). Conclusions: There was found a level of quality of life ranging from regular to good, along with satisfaction from half of the patients with nursing care. In addition, 6 out of 10 patients were satisfied with their nursing care experience. Additionally, sociodemographic variables such as age, educational level, and family income showed significant associations with patient satisfaction.
