The present research is carried out due to the difficulties in writing presented by students attending the first grade of primary school, which are: problems in writing in italics, that is, slowness in writing in this type of letter, difficulty in staying in the line and too large letters. These inconveniences are related to low motivation, confusion, poor practice, and lack of stimulation in the graphomotor activity. For this reason, this project proposes to determine whether or not there is a correlation between graphomotor activity and italic writing. The study is quantitative of a correlational type, involving 24 first-grade primary students from a school in Callao, Peru. The results are explained according to the italic writing test by Condemarin and Chadwick and the Vásquez graphomotricity test. It was concluded that the graphomotor activity does not correlate with italic writing; because, when performing the test between graphomotor activity and accelerated speed of italic writing, they do not maintain a relationship; likewise, the graphomotor activity and the usual writing, in the same way, the graphomotor activity with copy quality, do not maintain a relationship.
