Objective: To determine the level of depression and anxiety in pregnant women during the COVID -19 pandemic, who attend the National Arzobispo Loayza Hospital in the City of Lima-Peru. Materials and methods: Quantitative approach and descriptive cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 150 pregnant women. The applied instruments were the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire (GAD 7). Results: Regarding the level of depression, it was found that 40% presented a mild level and 34% a moderate to severe level. Meanwhile, 60% of pregnant women presented a mild level of anxiety, followed by 21.3% of women with moderate to severe anxiety. There were found associations of depression with the age of the mother, weeks of gestation, educational level, marital status, partner satisfaction, and alcohol and cigarette consumption. While anxiety was significantly associated with the age of the mother and marital status (p<0.05). Conclusions: A mild to moderate level of anxiety and depression was observed in most women. There were found significant associations in depression for several sociodemographic characteristics. Meanwhile, anxiety presented significant associations with age range and marital status. The levels of anxiety and depression among pregnant women showed a moderate positive correlation with each other.
