Objectives: To determine the factors associated with Self-Care in Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Gustavo Lanatta Health Center in Comas in 2023. Materials and Methods: Quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational approach. The study population consisted of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The applied technique was the survey. The instruments were a data collection checklist and a questionnaire, both valid and reliable for the study. Results: 54.2% of the participants were between 18 and 29 years old, 57.8% were female, 50.6% were tobacco consumers, and 62.7% did not consume alcohol. 77.1% of patients practiced adequate self-care. In medical control, 54.2% had adequate self-care, while in diet, 74.7% was adequate; in exercise, 79.5% was adequate, and in rest and sleep, 59% was adequate. The factors associated with self-care included age (p=0.000), gender (p=0.000), duration of the disease (p=0.003), and staff treatment (p=0.041). Conclusions: The factors associated with self-care in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were age, gender, duration of the disease, and staff treatment.
