Objective: To evaluate the level of attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding in mothers of infants aged 0-6 months at a primary healthcare center in the district Independencia-Lima 2023. Materials and Methods: This is a quantitative approach with a descriptive-crosssectional design. The sample consisted of 100 mothers. The applied technique was the survey and the instrument was the Iowa Infant Feeding Attitude Scale (IIFAS). Results: It was found that 89% of mothers had a neutral attitude, while 11% had a positive attitude toward breastfeeding. Regarding the average scores of the IIFAS, it was 62.34. In the frequency analysis of some items, it showed that 75% disagreed that formula feeding is more convenient than breastfeeding; 71% agreed with formula feeding if the mother has to work; 68% agreed that breastfed babies are healthier; 70% disagreed that fathers feel displaced if the mother breastfeeds, and 57% agreed that breast milk is less expensive than formula. Conclusions: The majority of mothers have a neutral attitude toward breastfeeding. In the frequency analysis of each item, an attitude toward breastfeeding is evident.
