Objective: To explore the social representations in parents about their children's nutrition and its association with childhood anemia in the Human Settlement Bellavista, Nueva Esperanza, Villa María del Triunfo. Materials and Methods: Qualitative approach and phenomenological design. Judgmental sampling was applied. A semi-structured interview was used for the fieldwork. An interview guide consisting of 14 grouped questions was elaborated and validated by expert judges. Results: The analysis of the interviews of the 14 parents revealed a principal category on social representations with four subcategories, including social representations about the role of nutrition in combating anemia, social representations about the impact of anemia on child development, social representations about the diagnosis of anemia, and social representations about supplementation for anemia. Conclusions: Based on the four emerging subcategories of social representations, it was found that the interviewed parents recognize the role of nutrition in combating anemia in their children, acknowledge that anemia has an impact on child development, learning, and the immune system, identify the means for diagnosing anemia, and have knowledge about micronutrients.
