Objective: To identify the knowledge about anemia prevention in mothers of children under 3 years of age who attend the Growth and Development Control office of the Centro Materno Infantil México, 2023. Materials and Methods: Quantitative approach and descriptive cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 114 mothers. The applied technique was the survey and the data collection instrument was a questionnaire regarding knowledge about anemia prevention. Results: Regarding knowledge of anemia prevention, 52.2% (n=59) have moderate knowledge, followed by 35.4% (n=40) with high knowledge, and 12.4% (n=14) with low knowledge. Concerning the dimensions, in general aspects of anemia, 61.9% (n=70) have moderate knowledge, followed by 23% (n=26) with high knowledge, and 15% (n=17) with low knowledge. In preventive measures, 60.2% (n=68) have moderate knowledge, followed by 25.7% (n=29) with high knowledge, and 14.2% (n=16) with low knowledge. As for the association between the variable of knowledge about anemia prevention and sociodemographic data, there was found a significant association with the child's age (0.02<0.05) and the mother's age (0.047<0.05), with significance values of p < 0.05. Conclusions: The research revealed that the surveyed mothers of children under three years of age showed a moderately high level of knowledge about anemia prevention and in each one of its dimensions (general aspects and preventive measures). Furthermore, it was found a significant association with the variables of the child's age and the mother's age.
