Materials and methods: This is a qualitative approach study, with a phenomenological design. Eight families recovered from COVID-19 were interviewed. The technique used for this research was the semi-structured interview and the interview guide instrument was validated by expert judges and a pilot test. The guide consisted of 12 items grouped into four a priori subcategories. Results: The inductive content analysis of the participants allowed the emergence of four subcategories: feelings towards COVID-19, identification of symptoms produced by COVID-19, behavioral changes aimed at preventing the disease and the impact of the pandemic in the family economy. Conclusions: This research showed the fear, anxiety, uncertainty, depression and sadness that families present after recovering from COVID-19. In addition, there were behavioral changes focused on preventing the disease, of which compliance with biosafety protocols and healthy eating were the most prominent. Regarding the identification of symptoms produced by COVID-19, the families recognized the main symptoms of the disease. Finally, it is pointed out the economic impact that families have suffered because of their illness and the pandemic.
