The engagement is understood as the intrinsic motivation that each one has to carry out different academic activities in their university life and which is constituted by three components which are: vigor, dedication and absorption. Many studies have shown that when a student shows his energy (vigor), his dedication and his concentration (absorption) in the studies, then he has a better academic self-efficacy and therefore within the classrooms he will have confidence in what he is doing. For these reasons, the objective of this empirical study is to identify the relationship between the three components of engagement, academic self-efficacy, teacher self-efficacy and burnout; in a sample of 87 university students from the primary education career of a private university in Lima - Peru. The present study is guided by the quantitative approach, correlation type and predictive level. The UWES instruments for academic engagement, the EAPESA for academic self-efficacy, the scale of teacher self-efficacy of Bandura and the burnout scale of Schaufeli et al. (2002) were applied, which were adapted for university students. The results showed that the adapted instruments have adequate levels of validity and reliability. In addition, in the analysis of correlations was performed with Pearson's r showing that vigor, absorption and dedication obtained significant relationships with academic self-efficacy, teacher self-efficacy and a negativity with student burnout. This means that the sample of university students according to the results obtained, if they have the engagement of vigor, dedication and absorption, they will not feel burnout in their studies, that is, they will not present exhaustion, lack of efficiency, they will continue giving their studies and therefore at work. Then, the multiple linear regression analysis showed that the vigor component was able to predict teaching self-efficacy, as well as the component achievement predicting burnout.
