Objective: The aim of this research was exploring the perception and beliefs about the COVID-19 virus in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in a health facility in Lima Este. Materials and methods: This is a qualitative approach study, which used the phenomenological design. 15 patients diagnosed and treated for tuberculosis were interviewed. The technique used was the semi-structured interview and the instrument was the interview guide that contains 12 items grouped into four a priori subcategories proposed by the researchers. Results: The inductive content analysis of the participants allowed the appearance of six emerging subcategories: vulnerability against COVID-19, feelings to COVID-19, compliance with preventive measures against COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19 and tuberculosis, beliefs about the origin of COVID-19 and misinformation and distrust of the COVID-19 vaccine. Conclusions: The study showed that the majority of tuberculosis patients expressed concern that a COVID-19 infection could make their vulnerability condition even worse, which make many of the patients to feel fear, anxiety and concern of being infected by COVID-19. In addition, they reported complying with the preventive measures to cope with the situation during the pandemic. Regarding their beliefs, it was found among the patient responses distrust and misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as acceptance of the vaccine in a group of patients.
