This research presents as a general objective the application of the study of times in the packaging lines in a fertilizer company. In the methodological framework, the research has a quantitative, pre-experimental approach and a descriptive scope. The tools used were: An A3 problem solving method that provides a structured approach to analyzing and proposing process improvements. Motion and time study methodology, including development and analysis of a process flow chart, process activity chart, flowchart, and work measurement. The EGE indicator (general equipment effectiveness) or better known as OEE (for its acronym in English), is a lean manufacturing tool and was applied to packaging lines to monitor, evaluate and improve the packaging process. It was possible to standardize and economize the working method. Packaging activities were reduced from 22 to 15 (equivalent to 31.8%) as they were unnecessary. The insertion of the push and pull system reduced the movement and the effort of the operator by 90%. The average cycle time was 20 seconds after the application of the evaluation factor, the normal time was equal to 19.52 seconds. Finally multiplied by the supplements, the standard time was 21.7 seconds. Productivity increased by 63.6% for Ammonium nitrate bagging and 80% for Yaramila Complex, compared to 2018. The risk of falls was reduced by 85%. The results of the investigation confirm that the application of the study of times increases the productivity and improves the safety of the fertilizer packaging operation
