Introduction: Xenophobia, which is a manifestation of the stigmatization of foreigners, constitutes a rejection, hostility and antipathy towards everything that is considered as an external and little-known influence; It is suggested that their psychological understanding could be understanding self-esteem, since it has an implication on how modify prejudices or stigmas will be. Objectives: To know what relationship exists between xenophobia and self-esteem in early adults in the Santa Anita district of Metropolitan Lima, being segmented by both sex and age. Methodology: It was a descriptive correlational study, where 223 early adults participated. The instruments used were the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Xenophobia Scale. Results: Given that the significance is greater than 0.05 (p = 0.75), it is stated that there is no relationship between xenophobia and self-esteem in the early adults of the Santa Anita district. Conclusions: the present study has contributed to considering various factors, apart from self-esteem, in the presence of xenophobic tendencies.
