The objective of this study was to describe radiologically the bone anatomy of the spider monkey (Ateles belzebuth) from a record of radiographic images belonging to the Monkey Island Rescue Center, taken in the months of January and February 2019. From the radiographic record, the bones that make up the axial and appendicular skeleton of four specimens of Ateles belzebuth were measured through an application for medical image processing, called MicroDicom Dicom viewer and these results were summarized in tables with the means and standard deviation of measurements. The findings show that the arms are not longer than the legs; this result is supported by the intermembral index of this study. It was observed that the number of vertebrae could vary within this species. Regarding the hands, the first finger only shows the presence of the metacarpus with variations in its size. In conclusion, although the characteristics of the bones studied are similar to the literature on the spider monkey and platyrrhini primates; there are differences that require evaluation once skeletal maturation is complete in these juvenile primates.
